I caught up with the Chairperson of National Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA), Mark Dommisse and he has expressed how the entire industry is leaping for joy after the Governments announcement to open up car dealerships under Level 4 lockdown.
The efforts and sleepless nights have seen success at the end of it all. Mark alludes the positive outcome to a unified approach from industry representatives – National Association of Automobile Manufacturers South Africa (NAAMSA), National Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA) and AutoTrader.
The only issue that has been a cause for concern would be that the Vehicle Licensing and Registration departments are not yet open. Will there be any work arounds, possibly help from other areas of the economy – am sure car dealerships will welcome any assistance to help move the car shopping journey forward with little to no interruptions for the consumer.
His call on the Insurance industries to waiver some parts of the process in the interim are welcomed up until we have further directive from the Government.
