I’ve long thought that car infotainment systems are just hard to use. Having to fiddle with blue-tooth connections or special cables is just painful. Until I met Apple CarPlay. Now, my ultimate co-pilot.
My love for Apple products
My avid love for Apple products probably skews my view. But no one can argue that Apple’s CarPlay makes life easier. Literally all you do is connect and go. Allowing me to take the things I love straight from my iPhone right to the car’s in-built display. What’s more, you LISTEN to your favourite book, song or podcast and still stay focused on the road…crazy cool!
Navigation using Apple CarPlay
When was the last time you kept looking at your phone to figure out where your navigator was taking you? My co-pilot quickly predicts where I’m most likely to go, based on my previous contacts, emails, texts and calendar. Better yet, the awesome Nearby feature helps you find the nearest petrol station and restaurant. Meaning, it already knows my regular stops and when I am up for an epic road adventure! All I can say is #AWESOME!
Texting and driving
Now you don’t have to text and drive, not that you ever did that. Apple CarPlay now reads your texts to you, thanks to Siri. She reads and can reply on your behalf. She’s almost like that personal assistant on the go. I must say a pretty nifty little tool and still, without once having to glance at your iPhone while driving.
Your playlists on “speed dial”
Simply ‘ask’ Siri to play your favourite playlist when you feel like tapping my fingers on the steering wheel in bad traffic. Your journey will feel like it is cut short a thousand fold…Anyone up for a party in traffic?
Almost everything integrates with Apple CarPlay
All of the above sounds cool, but what’s even cooler is you can get other apps from your iPhone. E.g. Audiobooks, podcasts, etc, putting you in the driver’s seat of your car’s features without ever leaving the steering wheel. Which really puts you in control while being entertained, educated & in touch as you go…try it, you will love it!
